Deliverables
Deliverables are official documents released by the project’s institutions to report on the progress of research activities and the achievement of results.
This section collects all public deliverables, providing the research community, industry professionals, and the general public with access to the latest findings and developments.

Title | Description |
---|---|---|
D1.1 | Initial concept and procedures for sharing of information on safety, crises and emergencies | This report will describe the initial concept for the sharing of safety information between relevant actors and users, including airport emergency personnel, airline personnel and ANSP personnel. The report will include various use cases and scenarios, and describe how the concept relates to the existing approaches of the EACCC, GADSS and Data4Safety. |
D1.3 | Final concept and procedures for sharing of information on safety, crises and emergencies | This report will describe the final concept for the sharing of safety information between relevant actors and users, including airport emergency personnel, airline personnel and ANSP personnel. The report will include an update of the initial use cases and scenarios, and the list of operational, user and functional requirements based on validation results |
D2.1 | New hazards in aviation and of new aircraft entrants | This report provides an assessment of the risk related to new hazards in aviation and of new aircraft entrants. A description of the methodology used and the key results of directed safety studies aimed to reduce vulnerabilities to future hazards will be included. |
D2.2 | Analysis of the impact climate change on airports in Europe | This report provides an assessment of the impacts of climate change a on flight safety and flight operations at the airports. The deliverable includes an analysis of the correlation between weather data, flight data extracted from weather related occurrences, reports on weather related safety events and traffic data (using data from EASA’s Data4Safety). |
D2.4 | Impact of weather hazards and space weather on aviation | The project will address weather and space weather impacts on aviation, focusing on improved predictability of extreme events. A new physical post-processing method for icing and an advanced nowcasting technique for thunderstorms and heavy rain at airports will be developed and tested. Future avionics technologies and procedures – from ground handling and runway operations to flight and emergency operations – will be assessed for vulnerability to cosmic rays and space weather phenomena. |
D3.1 | Analysis of measures to improve survivability of passengers and crew in future aircraft | This report will describe a set of survivability measures to adopt to face with innovative technologies incident scenarios to reduce the fatality rate of those onboard aircraft. Recommendations to all stakeholders involved in the system life cycle on how to include survivability topics in system design and development will be provided. |
D3.2 | Assessment of strategies to mitigate the risks of aircraft with new fuels and energy systems | This report will describe the overall risks and associated mitigations associated to novel fuels and energy systems (i.e. hydrogen storage and large lithium batteries). Analysis will first focus on the identification of risks, passing through proposals of health and fault monitoring systems to mitigate any possible failure modes. As a conclusion, the report will analyse post-impact conditions of such novel technologies. |
D4.2 | Validation report on procedures for emergency with aircraft with new fuels & energy systems | This report provides an assessment of newly developed procedures and flight crew performance during emergency situations with future aircraft operating with electric engines and engines using alternate fuel. An assessment and evaluation of the results from validation experiments with airline pilots in DLR’s flight simulator will be included. |
D4.3 | Simulation Report – Handling of emerging event | This report analyzes emerging weather events at connected airports, focusing on impact assessment and operational feasibility. It includes an evaluation of delays, arrivals, departures, and handling staff demand for airports with high weather disruption risk. The feasibility analysis uses real-time simulations with an Airport Management Simulation Platform (AMSP) and provides insights on decision-making indicators, including throughput, delays, cancellations, and recovery time, with recommendations for future procedures and systems. |
D4.4 | Concept of Operations for safe use of drones in emergency management | This report provides a concept and procedures for the use of drones in emergency management. Operational risk assessments for the drone flight(s) are provided for applications inside and outside the airport environment. A description of the developed tool for aerial images analysis and decision support for first responders is provided. |
D4.5 | Toolkit for decision support of crisis teams and emergency personnel at European airports | This deliverable consists of a digital toolkit, implemented and published on a website, for decision making by involved stakeholders in response to crises and emergencies. The toolkit targets first responders, airport operators, fire brigade, healthcare emergency services and airlines; and includes advisory material provided in a user friendly way. |
D5.3 | Assessment of results from demonstrations to improve resilience and survivability at airports | This report provides an assessment of the results from demonstration activities to improve resilience and survivability at airports; and presents the information and key results from various demonstration activities in an accessible and understandable way for stakeholders. |
D5.4 | Final report on solutions to improve the resilience & survivability at European airports | The report contains a stakeholder assessment of the achieved Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and maturity of the developed solutions; and recommendations for implementation of the proposed solutions and for changes and adaptation of standards and regulations. |
D6.1 | Initial Communication and Dissemination Plan | The present deliverable aims at defining a preliminary communication and dissemination plan to maximise the outreach of the ALBATROS project. In the first place, a project overview is provided. Then, a preliminary definition of objectives, the target audience, channels and activities is given for each aspect addressed in WP6. Finally, the Consortium defined a set of KPIs to monitor the progress of WP6 activities and correct the path if any deviancies occur. |
D6.3 | Final Communication and Dissemination Plan | This report will contain the final plan for dissemination and communication for the entire duration of the project including target audiences and strategy of engagement, planned communication and dissemination activities towards stakeholders, key messages, KPIs definition, training needs and delivery plan, strategic goals and targets and alignment of activities to exploit project results and communicate and disseminate them. |
D6.5 | Report on training activities to improve safety & human performance in crisis &emergencies | This report provides an evaluation of conducted training activities from the perspective of improvement of safety and human performance in crises and emergencies. |
D6.6 | Communication and Dissemination activities report | This report provides a summary and assessment – based on the KPIs defined early in the project – of all communication and dissemination activities performed during ALBATROS. |
